Even though she claims to still adore her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard is frightened of being sued by him again.
That was disclosed in the second half of Heard’s exclusive interview with NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie, which was Heard’s first since her high-profile defamation battle with Depp.
When Gutherie asked if she “still had love” for Depp despite everything, she replied, “definitely.”
“He’s one of my favorites. I adored him to the core of my being. “He was overheard. “And I did all in my power to make a badly broken relationship work, but I couldn’t.”
While acknowledging that it may be difficult for anybody to comprehend, especially for those who have never loved anyone before. Heard declared her admiration for Johnny Depp while acknowledging that she had no negative feelings for him.
In part one of the interview, which aired Tuesday, Heard stated that “the great majority of this trial was played out on social media” and spoke of the hostility spewed at her by Depp fans.
In the discussion on Wednesday, after Gutherie asked Heard about a text in which Depp threatened her with “complete global humiliation,” she elaborated on the public perception of her.
Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against Amber Heard, alleging that she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed on her experience with domestic violence, though he was not mentioned by name.
They were both found liable for defamation, albeit the jury awarded Depp far more damages.
Heard told Guthrie that she “took for granted what I considered to be my right to speak” and that she is now afraid to speak up.
Regarding her plans for the future, Amber Heard stated that she can now devote her complete attention to her one-year-old daughter.
The interview will air on “Dateline” on Friday at 8 p.m. EST, with a sneak peek available on Peacock on Thursday.
