In a groundbreaking effort to empower survivors of toxic and abusive relationships, Toxicura 501c3, founded by Alana Hubbard, a former celebrity photographer turned fire dancer, model and entrepreneur, is leading the charge with a multifaceted support system and a scholarship program aimed at breaking free from toxicity and fostering healing and resilience. Hubbard, who also owns Alura Entertainment and Toxicura, is pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Central Florida (UCF) to further support Toxicura Thrivers. Additionally, Alana is a part of Miami Sundanz, an independent professional dance team in the Weston area run by coach Jeanne Wolk! Follow them on social media for info on upcoming auditions! @sundanzdancers. Alana is also campaign manager for Nevada congressional candidate Gabriel Cornejo and homeschools her two teens, Mason and Mariana.
Joining Hubbard on the board is Lake Worth native Ashley Centanni, a Thriver and victim of DV and narcissistic abuse. Centanni is the author of the book “Nightmare on Estero,” and has made it her life mission to help women of DV and toxic relationships. Centanni, along with Hubbard, are actively working to enforce changes to the laws and policy in FL regarding the protection and support of Thrivers who are stuck in abusive and toxic relationships. Alana has written a book, “Toxicura,” and they are both are heavily involved and dedicated to social outreach through social media platforms and their podcast.
Also joining the board is Nicole Colquett, a teacher based in Orlando. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and dedication to Toxicura’s mission of empowering survivors of toxic relationships.
The organization’s mission is clear: to empower Thrivers to escape toxic, abusive, and narcissistic relationships and embark on a journey toward healing and thriving. Through initiatives such as The TANETH method: a 10-step program, support groups, Curas (sponsors) coaching services, and collaboration with medical professionals, Toxicura provides a comprehensive support system tailored to the unique needs of survivors.
Looking ahead, Toxicura envisions a future where Thrivers can heal completely. Plans are underway to organize retreats that offer a safe and nurturing environment for personal growth and recovery. Additionally, the organization is dedicated to establishing a rehabilitation facility that will provide intensive care and specialized treatment for individuals in need.
One of the key challenges faced by Thrivers is financial barriers. Recognizing this, Toxicura is actively working towards accepting insurance to ensure their services are accessible to as many individuals as possible. Moreover, the organization is committed to raising funds for a scholarship program. This program will offer essential resources to those who cannot afford them, including the book, individual coaching, medical and psychiatric treatment, and financial support to help individuals rebuild their lives and move away from toxic environments. Alana and the Toxicure board intend on creating a first of its kind, holistic & eastern medicine mental health facility that is a safe and peaceful place for Thrivers to go ( with their children as well) to escape toxic or abusive situations, on Alana’s 3 acres of land in Seminole County, Florida. She believes that generally, victims are financially abused as well or don’t have money or a place to go to escape. They don’t want to go to a shelter because of the danger and they don’t want to go to a mental hospital or traditional rehab because they don’t want to leave children behind and it potentially negatively affects them in custody aspects of divorce. Funds raised will help with permits, engineering fees, building the facility etc.
Toxicura: Thriving Beyond Toxicity is built on the belief that everyone deserves to live a life free from the harmful effects of toxic relationships. Through the support of Curas, Toxicura empowers Thrivers to break free, heal, and thrive, transforming pain into strength and resilience.
Stay tuned for more updates on Toxicura’s impactful initiatives as they continue to empower survivors of toxic and abusive relationships towards healing, growth, and a future free from toxicity, and follow them on social media @Toxicura501c3!
They are also looking for volunteers, sponsors and donations! A Circus runway show fundraiser is being held by Alura Entertainment and Candice Christian of CDCD Productions on September 6th during New York Fashion Week! Tickets can be purchased on Event Brite!
