What do business mogul Emilio Estefan Jr., entertainers like The Gipsy Kings®, and real estate developer Thomas Kramer have in common? They have all relied on legal counsel from the same top Miami lawyer — Brasilio Machado, founder of The Machado Law Firm.

The Machado Law Firm is a boutique firm with a global reach. With locations in Miami, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, Machado and his team can help clients with a wide range of legal matters. Their specializations include business law, immigration, family, and defending people against allegations of white-collar crime.

The Making of Machado

Machado’s international perspective is one of the key things that makes him different from and more effective than other lawyers.

“I’m originally from Brazil, and I moved to Miami when I was a teenager,” Machado explains. “I grew up in Brazil in the ’70s, a country much like the US with immigrants from everywhere. My family is a Brazilian family of Italian and Portuguese descent, and I grew up going to school with people from different cultures and backgrounds. My classmates included immigrants from the Middle East, Italy, Portugal, and more — it was and still is a melting pot — so I feel very comfortable and relate well with people from other cultures and religions. I have clients of all ethnicities and religions.”

When it comes to immigration cases, Machado’s personal experiences enable him to understand clients’ needs without requiring lengthy explanations. Moreover, Machado speaks fluent English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.

“Our team also has Russian, Arabic, and Bulgarian speakers, which enables our clients to communicate in the language they prefer,” he says. “My background as an immigrant gives me different perspectives and an advantage. As an example, it’s hard for a South American client to explain the difficulties of starting a life in the US as an immigrant to someone who has never experienced that. They might be able to understand it, but they don’t really know the ins and outs like I do.”

According to Machado, “To be great at something, you need some talent, but hard work always beats talent. I believe that you need some level of obsession to achieve greatness in what you do. My team and I are obsessed with achieving results for our clients. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night with an idea on how to solve a client’s issue, and I go to my kitchen table and write it down so that in the morning, I can share it with my team.”

Founding The Machado Law Firm

Machado became a practicing attorney later in life, which also means he has a wealth of work experience in other fields that also helps him find solutions for his clients.

“I launched and ran different businesses prior to my legal career,” he explains, “so I also bring entrepreneurial skills and experiences to the cases I take up. Clients can relate and identify with me because I understand their problems and situations. After all, I’ve faced similar ones myself in my own business career.”

Machado earned his BA in Business Law and International Relations from the University of Miami before going on to graduate cum laude with his JD from St. Thomas University School of Law. After spending two years as a clerk for a criminal defense attorney, he went to work as an attorney for a private international firm that focused on business litigation, immigration, and family law.

Now, with 15 years of experience in the legal field, Machado knows how to best advocate for clients. He started The Machado Law Firm in 2013 and has been helping clients win settlements and verdicts ever since. Today, his legal practice is expanding internationally, and he now splits his time between Miami and Dubai.

How Machado gives clients a competitive edge

Machado is licensed in Florida, the District of Columbia, and DIFC Courts in Dubai and will soon be licensed in the State of New York. He also represents clients nationwide in federal white-collar crime or immigration cases.

At the Machado Law Firm, people come looking for solutions to their problems. “That’s why I’m called ‘The Fixer’ — clients often come to me and say, ‘I need you to fix this for me!’” Machado says.

From contract disputes to contentious divorces, Machado uses skillful negotiations and legal maneuvers to achieve clients’ goals. “We handle situations for our clients professionally and skillfully map out a way to resolve their problems from the very beginning,” he says. =

One of the main parts of his practice is helping entrepreneurs incorporate as IFZA Dubai Free Zone Companies.

“I am a registered agent for the IFZA Dubai Free Zone, which is a designated tax-free area of Dubai that has laws that incentivize and facilitate trade and international business,” Machado explains. “We incorporate and provide clients with all the support they need to start their businesses in the most important trading hub between the West, the Middle East, and Asia today. If you want to do trading with Asia or the Middle East, Dubai is the best point to connect with these regions. It’s also one of the top cities in the world for safety, commerce, hospitality, and tourism. Many of my clients want to either have some business presence there or a second home or both.”

Machado’s global experience also brings unique benefits to his clients. “We have indispensable contacts and partners all over the world that can help us when we need a result for a client,” he says. “If we need to hire an expert on a certain matter to solve a client’s problem, then we do that, but we always take responsibility for the results. We do all of our work in-house.”

Over the course of his career, Machado and his team have recovered millions of dollars in settlements for clients and achieved positive results in all areas of law.

The Law Firm that treats you like family

If you need a lawyer, then consider The Machado Law Firm.

“Our clients become family to us,” Machado says. “If you want an attorney who will fight for you like they would for their own brother or sister, then give us a call. I’m available seven days a week.”
