Makeup artist Anastasia Lysenko, originally from Siberia and relocated to Miami seven years ago, is a shining example of how persistence and a desire for growth can lead to remarkable achievements. This year, Anastasia has already been invited to prestigious events such as Miami Swim Week and Art Basel, where she was able to not only witness the shows but also showcase her talents on an international stage. Now, Anastasia has many interesting clients and events she flies to on a private jet to the islands.

Journey into the World of Beauty 

Anastasia first came to Miami by chance when she visited for a vacation and coincidentally met her future husband. The city became her new home, and despite all the difficulties, she decided to stay and develop her career. Moving to a different country always involves many challenges, and Anastasia faced the need to obtain a local license and build a client base. The language barrier and new rules of the beauty industry added further complexity to the process, but she did not give up.

Returning to the Profession 

Personal life difficulties forced Anastasia to start from scratch. After leaving her job for maternity leave and after breaking up with her husband, she needed to quickly find a way to earn a living and support her children. Her journey into the world of visage began when one of her colleagues offered her a job at a wedding event. This was a turning point for her: Anastasia returned to the beauty industry after a break associated with maternity leave and raising two children and found her true calling in this.

Anastasia adores her job, allowing her to work with beautiful women and participate in their celebrations. Every interaction with her clients inspires her to new achievements, and her attention to detail and eagerness to follow fashion trends make her services in demand. Anastasia actively follows the work of both Russian and American makeup artists, which allows her to bring fresh ideas and trends into her practice.

Working at large-scale events such as Miami Swim Week allows Anastasia to delve into the intricacies of the fashion and beauty industry. She notes that behind the seemingly effortless shows is the tremendous work of many professionals. Makeup artists need to be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, as often only 15 minutes are allocated for preparing each model.

Overcoming Difficulties

Anastasia shares that at one of the events, she faced unexpected difficulties. Instead of the expected two or three models, she was assigned to work with twenty. This required high-stress resistance from her and the ability to solve problems promptly. In the limited time available, she had to not only do the makeup but also glue on eyelashes, touch up hair, and present the model on stage, which could be daunting for any specialist.
