The fashion industry has experienced a significant transformation in recent years due to the rise of digital fashion. As a result, industry platforms that focus on community have become essential tools for brands and companies to shape culture, showcase their collections, connect with consumers and the industry, and expand their businesses.

One of the main challenges facing the industry is the negative environmental impact caused by fast fashion, overproduction, and human rights issues. To address these concerns, a growing number of fashion industry experts are speaking out about various socio-economic issues that intersect with fashion.

In an effort to emphasize the importance of people and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in sustainability, Fashinnovation and The Lions have formed a partnership. Fashinnovation, a platform based in New York City, aims to connect the fashion and tech industries to establish a sustainable supply chain and foster an innovative and inclusive future for fashion. The Lions, founded in 2008, is a New York City-based talent management, branding, and creative services company that works with models, actors, athletes, and influencers in the fashion, beauty, and luxury lifestyle sectors.

Fashinnovation X The Lions will be coming together through their partnership in Miami on July 10th closing out Miami Swim Week at the Fashinnovation Miami Talks event in partnership with MANA. The Lions will bring Candice Swanepoel: Supermodel & Founder of swimwear brand Tropic C as a speaker, bringing sustainability to the conversation. She will be joined by other leaders in the industry including Miami based Cristina Mantilla – Founder of Eliou Eliou amongst others, in discussing the future of fashion. Upon Fashinnovation launching its first event in Miami in 2022, they collaborated with Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on a sustainable fashion fund for Miami Dade County, and are now continuing to bring the global industry to Miami through their gatherings.

Julia Kisla, one of the founders of Fashinnovation, states, “Fashion has the potential to lead the way in sustainability on a global scale. Our objective is to continually create opportunities for fashion stakeholders to come together, unite their positions, and develop meaningful solutions for our industry.”

Jordana Guimaraes, Co-Founder of Fashinnovation, highlights the importance of people when it comes to sustainability, stating, “When we think of sustainability in the context of the fashion ecosystem, we think of people. We consider the significance of inclusivity, diversity, and equality, ensuring that everyone in the supply chain is treated fairly and equally. This is why we are thrilled to partner with The Lions, whose founder, Julia Kisla, has always championed sustainability in her work with the industry.”

Emphasizing on the crucial role of tech in revolutionizing fashion, the forthcoming event in Miami is set to shape the industry’s future through candid conversations and innovative partnerships. The conference aims to spark dialogues and foster a platform for industry professionals to share, learn, and leverage their influence to advance sustainable practices.
