December is a busy month for culture in Miami, centering around the famous Art Basel week. Miami culture icon Radmila Lolly showed us this month what Miami has to offer, both during Art Basel and after. During numerous Art Basel exhibitions, Radmila’s latest single MAGIC (Miami Beach House Remix) was heard playing, as well as at afterparties throughout the week. Radmila was seen attending the much-talked about play THE HEAD & THE LOAD, which was one of the highlights of the Art Basel exhibitions.

Later in that week, Radmila was seen at the Adrienne Arsht Center, attending the Nu Deco Ensemble concert that featured special guest artist Wyclef Jean. Known for their genre-bending performances fusing classical music with other genres, the Nu Deco Ensemble is a Miami-based hybrid orchestra. They often feature guest artists such as Wyclef, and also collaborate with other artistic disciplines like dance or multi-media productions. The audience enthusiastically enjoyed Wyclef’s performance, all getting out of their chairs to dance and sing along with Wyclef, who came down off the stage to join them. The performance also featured his fellow singer and sister Melky Jean, whose beautiful vocals wowed the crowd. Radmila’s single MAGIC (Miami Beach House Remix) was heard once again at the afterparty for the performance.

In the orchestra was one of Radmila’s collaborators and dear friend Siobhan Cronin, seen performing the violin. Cronin was one of the sound engineers on Radmila’s single MAGIC, one of the numerous projects they have worked on together. Besides being a classically trained violinist, Siobhan is a recording artist and composer, and performs on electric violin in the American rock band Starset, alongside her husband Brock Richards. He is an extraordinary guitarist, and also collaborates with Radmila, doing all the mixing on “MAGIC”. Siobhan performs regularly with internationally recognized artists and touring shows, including: Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, Earth Wind & Fire, Ricky Martin, Sarah McLachlan and Rod Stewart. She has performed with Tony Award winning singer and actress, Audra McDonald, as well as Grammy award-winning American classical pianist, Emanuel Ax.

As an orchestral musician, Siobhan has performed as both a violinist and violist with a number of symphonies. She is currently a member of the violin section for Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble, an energetic and virtuosic chamber orchestra, as well as the Miami City Ballet. In addition to her symphonic experience, Siobhan is an active chamber musician. She has performed in a number of trios and quartets in venues such as the Betsy Hotel in South Beach, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. She has been actively involved in orchestral and chamber music festivals, including the Miami Music Festival, The St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar, and The Red Rocks Music Festival.
