Since the beginning of her career, Dr. Jila Senemar has observed women grappling with symptoms that were often minimized or misunderstood as natural aging. During consultations, she repeatedly heard stories marked by discomfort, frustration, and confusion. That’s when she recognized the core issue was not just hormonal, it was systemic

To address this, she founded JilaMD in Coral Gables FL. As a board-certified OB/GYN, her mission is to guide women through hormonal transitions using evidence-based protocols and collective support. Her efforts aim to replace stigma with strategy, helping women navigate menopause with clarity and confidence.

A Foundation Built on Clinical Excellence and Personal Insight

Dr. Senemar’s interest in how biology influences behavior began at UC Riverside, where she studied the neural pathways that regulate physiological processes. She earned her medical degree at Ross University and sharpened her clinical and surgical skills as Chief Resident at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Over the following decade, at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, she deepened her surgical experience and led the team managing obstetric and gynecological urgent care. In 2005, she joined FemCare OB GYN LLC in Miami, where she integrated robotic surgery and hormone-based protocols into her care model. Yet even as technology advanced, midlife women continued to be underserved.

Building JilaMD: A Personalized Model for Midlife Wellness

After years of clinical experience, Dr. Senemar recognized the shortcomings of conventional menopause care, often too generalized, too reactive, and too disconnected from a woman’s real life experience. In response, she founded JilaMD, a practice built around truly personalized care. Each treatment plan integrates comprehensive lab data, lifestyle insights, and the patient’s own goals to create a tailored, whole-person approach to midlife wellness.

Patients undergo metabolic assessments and longevity screenings alongside hormone therapy. Dr. Senemar works closely with each patient to interpret diagnostic data, understand lifestyle patterns, and craft targeted solutions that address symptoms while enhancing long-term vitality. As women’s health profiles shift, their care evolves too.

Expanding Support Beyond the Clinic

Dr. Senemar understands that meaningful care doesn’t end at the clinic door. To reach and empower more women, she launched platforms that foster open, informed conversations around midlife health. Her podcast,  Her Time, Her Health with Dr. Jila, brings together clinicians, researchers, and women from all walks of life to share expert insights and lived experiences, creating a space where knowledge, empathy, and community intersect.

In 2024, she founded the Miami Menopause Collective—a community where women engage in shared learning without fear of dismissal. That same year, she also introduced EmpowHER Miami, a live event where education and lived experience come together to normalize dialogue and promote progress.

Inclusive Care Through Language and Representation

Rejecting a one-size-fits-all model, Dr. Senemar offers care in English, Farsi, and Spanish, providing inclusive support for diverse communities. Her approach ensures no woman is left unheard due to language or cultural barriers.

Her work has earned broad media attention, with appearances on NBC Channel 6, and coverage in Coconut Grove Magazine, Brickell Magazine, and Miami Magazine. In MindBodyGreen and Tracy Anderson Magazine, she shares practical, science-backed strategies for daily wellness. She has also co-authored chapters in the Textbook of Robotic Surgery and the Field Guide for Air and Ground Transport.

Extending Menopause Awareness Into Everyday Life

Dr. Senemar believes conversations about hormonal transitions must reach the environments where women live and work. Through initiatives with BRCAstrong, FemCity, and the Fuscia Tent, she helps organizations support menopausal health in real, tangible ways.

By positioning menopause as a shared life experience, not a medical afterthought, she encourages systems to adapt—not women to withdraw. This advocacy ensures midlife women remain visible, respected, and supported.

Building a Connected Future for Women’s Health

What started in Miami is now laying the groundwork for a broader shift. The Miami Menopause Collective is expanding into a nationwide resource, and EmpowHER Miami is evolving into an annual summit that gathers voices from all sectors to promote change.

Through these channels, and her ongoing educational outreach, Dr. Senemar is helping women make informed choices before crises occur. Her work is reshaping not just how menopause is treated, but how it is discussed, taught, and understood.

In every conversation, consultation, and initiative, Dr. Jila Senemar is advancing a future where education, inclusion, and proactive care form the standard—not the exception.
