Women get things done. It’s become increasingly apparent in today’s society that an empowered woman can do just about anything she puts her mind to. For Stacey Freeman, Ph.D., success comes in the form of her successful career in higher education, an emerging lifestyle brand, and raising two beautiful children.
Stacey Freeman is currently an Executive Director at UCLA. Working in Higher Education for 20 years, she has become a widely successful career woman who obtained her doctorate in 2016. Over the last nine years, she has built a thriving lifestyle brand through social media and her personal blog Posh In Progress. More remarkably, she did all of it while being a full-time mom of two children under ten.
In May 2022, Stacey published her first-ever book, “A Thankful Book for Kids,” a storybook that aims to make gratitude a part of every day for kids ages one to three. The publishing marks yet another milestone in Stacey’s career, but her success hasn’t always been achieved without challenges.
One of the biggest hurdles Stacey faced as a working mom came in the form of “mom guilt.” As a mother, she wants nothing but the best for her children, but trying to grow two careers and having young kids at the same time was quite challenging. “A lot of moms feel like we’re failing if our kids’ childhoods aren’t perfect,” shared Stacey. “We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to “do it all.” The best advice and how I overcame the “mom guilt” is to realize that we can have it all, but not all in the same day,” she added.
Stacey Freeman firmly believes that above all else, being kind to oneself is the best gift you could give yourself. “I’m kind to everyone else, I always prioritize everyone else, but I often struggle to make the time for myself, to take good care of myself and to speak kindly to myself, so that’s really what I’ve been focusing on a lot more now that I’m older,” she shared.
As an educator by profession and lifestyle influencer, Stacey Freeman is an expert at wearing many hats. She hopes to continue to find ways to meld her two careers so she can help more people. With a deep passion for writing, Stacey has been incredibly proud of her first published children’s book. In the near future, she has expressed she wants to continue writing books for parents, kids, and families. “I also did a segment on KTLA this spring that was a lot of fun, so I’d love to find more opportunities to pursue TV hosting in the future,” expressed Stacey.
As she continues to raise her children and acquire success in every facet of her work life, more and more women have gravitated towards her positive message and genuine personality. A true inspiration for all the women out there, Stacey Freeman is a testament to the fact that success is within arm’s reach through hard work, passion, and dedication.
