Not everyone gets the chance to build a career that allows for creative expression, fulfillment, and a shot at world-class success. That’s why David Murrietta Jr. isn’t squandering opportunities and continues to jump at every chance he can get to take his acting and influencing career further. Accordingly, he has made a name for himself in entertainment circles and reached significant heights in record time.
David is an actor, social media influencer, the vlogging half of Dalex vlogs. He has built a strong portfolio of short film and tv show appearances in such a short amount of time, appearing on films like Internal Conflict, Taps, Vicious Circle, Underdog, Angelics: Ascension, Sunset Glory: Doolittle’s Heroes, and Grey’s Anatomy, to name a few. Mostly known for playing police officer and army-men roles, David is the perfect fit for stud roles and thrives in them.
But what would surprise most is that David never had any acting training before his first in the entertainment industry. One would probably even say that he accidentally landed in this industry. “I was introduced to acting and the influencer lifestyle very late in the game,” shares Murrietta. “Not having a lot of theatrical training growing up made me more determined and hungry to just create content. From comedy sketches, dramatic short stories or full feature films, if I could be a part of it in one way or another, I was all in.”
While his acting journey has had its fair share of ups and downs, David Murrietta Jr. is more than thankful to be where he is today. Originally from San Jose, California, the actor had a background in Law Enforcement and Business. He would later move to San Francisco, land a few acting projects, and eventually fall in love with the industry. Murrietta Jr. would move to Los Angeles a little later to pursue acting full-time and discover the social media world. From that point on, he tried modeling, vlogging, and becoming a fashion influencer. His Instagram account was off to the races and would reach close to 85,000 Instagram followers in no time. He also started a YouTube channel with his fiancee, Alexandra Creteau, called Dalex Vlogs, where they share travel stories, dating tips, and health and lifestyle videos. That YouTube channel has now reached over 700,000 views and continues to grow by the day.
In retrospect, David never thought that he would land in the sphere that he currently is in.
“Before acting and being a social media influencer, I have never had a career, let alone a job where I had the freedom to express myself artistically,” shared David Murrietta Jr. “Blogging, becoming a brand ambassador, and social media influencing became a part of my daily routine, which I enjoy between auditions. It gives my audience an insider’s look at what it is like to pursue being a working actor.”
David also hopes that his newly found platform would allow him to speak to the world about pressing issues that are dividing people groups all over the nation. As he continues to shine and excel in entertainment, he hopes that he will become a beacon of hope for those who have given up on their dreams because it was too hard and shows them what perseverance rewards those who keep pushing.
