The three-week master class on personal finances is virtual and open to anyone

——, Fla. — As inflation and a potential economic recession continue to cause concern, finances are top of mind for many families across the country.  However, recent data shows just 57% of U.S. adults are financially literate, 63% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and 60% of millennials who make more than $100,000 a year also live paycheck to paycheck.

That is why the Pareja Family Foundation, together with Miami Dade College, is excited to offer a free, online course focused on the main principles of financial literacy. The course is open to all ages and enrollment in Miami Dade College is not required.

“We often hear millennials and Gen Z say they struggle with ‘adulting,’” said Ariana Pareja, President, and Cofounder of the Pareja Family Foundation, “but building wealth and having financial stability are vital life skills for everyone, especially young people, and minorities.  This type of knowledge is generational, so we want to remove any potential barriers and make sure anyone who can benefit from this type of financial education can get it.”

Participants will learn about things like building credit, passive income, 401k plans, and budgeting to set the foundation for future investment strategies. The course will also include guidance from business owners, CEOs, and professionals in finance and real estate.

“We are very excited to partner with the Pareja Foundation to offer this course,” said Nelson Royo, Program Manager at Miami Dade College.  “The registration for our Spring classes were maxed out, this is a prime example that this information is needed and people want to learn how to manage their finances and we are excited to continue this course Fall/Winter 2023″

Fall classes dates will be released soon. To keep up on updates follow @parejafamilyfoundation on FB or sign up to Miami Dade College’s newsletter.
